Update: Strike at the Port of Montreal on August 10th

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 375, which represents the longshoremen working at the Port of Montreal, has given today a 72-hour general strike notice to the Maritime Employers Association (MEA). The general strike is being carried out as part of the negotiations for the renewal of the longshoremen’s collective agreement with the Port.

The strike will start on Monday August 10th at 7 am and is open ended until further notice. All terminals at the Port of Montreal will be impacted by this strike.
