    MSC Air Cargo adds Milan flights and reveals plans for new connections

    MSC Air Cargo has conducted its inaugural flight between Milan Malpensa and Tokyo Narita and revealed more new connections are on the way.

    Heathrow cargo tunnel closure set to cause delays

    There are warnings of potential delays to cargo at Heathrow after a safety issue resulted in the temporary closure of a tunnel linking the cargo terminal area (CTA) with terminal four (T4).
    In an operational advice notice, the airport said that the tunnel was closed due to a “life safety issue” but gave no further information. Read more here.


    Lawsuit reveals details of gold and cash heist at Toronto Airport

    Air cargo security is under the spotlight, following some $23m in gold and cash being stolen from Toronto Airport – after an Air Canada flight from Switzerland earlier this year – by an “unidentified individual” simply walking into the bonded warehouse and presenting a “fraudulent waybill”, before receiving the shipment, claims a lawsuit filed by Brinks.     2M carriers’ winter schedules see more blankings as demand freezes

    2M alliance partners MSC and Maersk will revert to a reduced “winter schedule” coverage for Asia–North Europe until December  to mitigate the impact of falling demand and the continued erosion of freight rates on the route.
    From the end of this month, the 2M will blank the sailing of an Asia–North Europe loop for seven weeks. Read more here (login required).
