MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Director – Sales & Customer Service, Central & Western Canada , the Sales Manager will be responsible for prospecting new clients to offer them value added logistics/freight forwarding services and solutions. Responsible to achieve the overall established sales and margin targets for the OEC Vancouver sales team

- Lead, coach, and supervise the OEC Vancouver sales department ensuring a high level of productivity and performance
- Through weekly meetings provide Senior Management with progress updates on the Vancouver sales team performance, identifying status of sales objectives, individual sales rep performance and overall pipeline
- Schedule weekly/monthly 1 on 1 feedback sessions with Sales Representatives to review performance, pipeline, and identify issues preventing optimal performance
- Motivate the sales team through innovative management practices such as sales competitions and campaigns
- Develop an OEC Vancouver Sales Business Plan and provide Senior Mgmt. with executive reporting tracking pipeline, objectives and results
- Responsible for growing the sales force in alignment with Company sales objectives and targets
- Actively sell all OEC products and services to new and existing accounts, meeting/exceeding market needs
-Lead and co-ordinate the preparation of all documents and analysis for major OEC RFQs
- Work with the Director to provide regular training and coaching to all sales personnel on the Company’s products and services
- Perform regular business intelligence activities in the market and inform the Company on market conditions, trends and competitor’s activities
- Develop and update sales presentations by vertical to effectively sell OEC’s products and services
- Recommend to Senior Management any specific training needs to improve sales techniques and increase productive sales calls
- Promptly report any customer complaints and assist the Customer Care team in bringing a diligent and satisfactory resolution to any dispute or dissatisfaction issue
- Engage in regular entertainment and promotional activities to increase Company’s market share with existing and prospective clients within corporate policies regulations
- Immediately report to Senior Management any derogation to corporate policies and/or any issues that bear material contingent liability for the company

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT PROFILE

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in international Freight Forwarding Sales
- 2-3 years of experience managing a sales team
- Excellent knowledge of logistics including Air Import/Export, Ocean Import/Export and Warehousing and distribution services
- Prior experience contributing to client RFQ’s
- Ability to apply efficient prospecting methods for clientele development
- High execution skills using MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and experience using a CMS (Customer Management System)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Working under the direction of the Director, Operations – Montreal, the Ocean Import Manager will be responsible for Ocean Freight operations and Ocean Carrier relations, supporting OEC’s tremendous growth.

- Organize, plan, control and oversee Ocean Freight Import operations and activities
