CP July 27 Update - High Water in the U.S. Midwest

Flood waters are receding in Illinois and most parts of eastern Iowa. CP’s Savanna, Ill yard, is on track to resume operations overnight tonight and expect the Rockford branch line to reopen late Tuesday. As the water has receded around Green Island north of Savanna, CP has already started operating trains through that area. As a precautionary measure, CP has taken the line through Davenport, IA, out of service in anticipation of the Mississippi River cresting in the next 12 hours. While CP continues to reroute shipments on their own lines and detouring on other railways, shipment delays of up to 48 hours may be experienced for traffic in the area. CP will continue to provide regular updates as the situation evolves. There are no major delays elsewhere on the CP network.
