Index shows “slight upswing” in world trade

World trade experienced a slight upswing in recent months and reached a new high in November, while international merchandise trade has risen by 10.6% so far this year.
Emerging markets and North America are the main growth drivers. Despite new tariffs on exported products, China is benefiting from the strong US economy and this is expected to continue throughout December. Read more here.

US retailers relieved as US delays $200bn China tariff increase

US retailers have welcomed news that the US has decided to hold off on implementing tariffs on $200bn worth of Chinese goods due to be implemented in January.
The delay comes after China and US agreed to a 90-day truce on further tariffs hikes to allow talks to take place. Read more here.

•Entry summaries and statements due today will be processed. CBP will accept all payment authorizations PN/QN and process them; however, the finals will not print until Friday morning due to the holiday. Filers can present or pay on Thursday, December 6 without penalty.
