    A UK production company is making an eight part TV show about air cargo for channel UKTV

    Production company Back2Back Productions, which made the MegaShippers programme about cargo shipping, said the TV show, provisionally called MegaAir, will “showcase the incredible logistics involved in air cargo”. Read more here.

    Zim follows Q2 loss-making trend, joining box rivals in sea of red ink

    Zim is the latest box line unable to buck the industry trend of red ink in the second quarter, recording a net loss of $33m.
    The Israeli ocean carrier blamed “instability and volatility” in the container market – specifically, lower freight rates and increases in bunker and charter costs.  Read more here (login required).

    APL’s newly launched Eagle Express X (EXX) service arrived at the port of Los Angeles on August 15 after an 11-day ocean transit. The ship’s arrival also marked the launch of expeditious last mile delivery of import cargo with same-day cargo availability at the Eagle Marine Services (EMS) terminal. Read more here
