America’s FAA Has Banned Some MacBooks From Flights
simpleflying.comReports are circulating this week that the Federal Aviation Administration has banned certain Apple MacBooks from flights. The ban relates to a specific model of MacBook due to a battery recall. As such, this will only affect a very small percentage of travelers. Read more here.

Box-ship giant Maersk reports huge rise in second quarter profit

Moller–Maersk (NASDAQ: Maersk A; NASDAQ: Maersk B) reported a massive increase in second quarter underlying profit and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA). Revenues also “grew slightly,” the shipping company said. Read more here.
HMM trims second quarter loss, reports revenue increase of 12.8%
freightwaves.comHyundai Merchant Marine (011200.KS), South Korea’s largest container carrier, said it had an operating loss in the second quarter of 2019 of 112.9 billion won (about $93 million at the current exchange rate of about 1,215 won to the U.S. dollar), a decrease from the 199.8 billion won loss reported in the same 2018 period. Vancouver port sees record cargo volume for first half
canadianshipper.comVancouver, BC — The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority released the 2019 mid-year cargo statistics for goods moving through the Port of Vancouver. Between January 1 and June 30, 2019, overall cargo through the port increased 0.5% to a record 72.5 million metric tonnes (MMT) over the same time last year, with new mid-year records in containers, potash, ad grain.
